does anyone know for sure in a stock automatic shifter from an 88 iroc will work in an 85 firebird. if so how. id doesnt seem to bolt up right. had a five speed in it.

 

If you had a 5-speed and are now going with auto, there is no way the automatic shifter will bolt right in. There is a hole where the mounts should be. Get the bracket off of the automatic car by drilling the spot welds or something and weld/bolt it into yours. It won't be that straight-forward but you'll get the idea.
