Steering wont lock
The steering wont lock on my 1982 trans ams. It has a B&M Console Megashifter if that means anything. Is this a problem with some cable that's supposed to connect to the shifter or is it in the steering column?

Steering lock should be related to the key cylinder and the rod that it pushes into the ignition switch which is on top of the steering column under the gauges - you remove the two large nuts under the dash to drop the column down to get to those rods and the ignition switch.
