Seat help?

I have an 86 camaro but the interior was swapped out from a different camaro. I bought red seat belts for it but I still need a belt guide. Can anyone tell me what year the seats are from? Or what belt guide I need? Not really sure what to do about it.

Re: Seat help?

That looks like the 88 - 92 upholstery design, but the belt guide impression and holes looks like what I thought was the 93+ belt guide. Like this one here

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...deblackgm.aspx

Didn't know they put any of those on the 3rd gen seats.

the impression left on the seat almost looks to long to be the part from that link. But I guess as long as it fits then it doesn't really matter. I just don't know the correct size guide that would fit

Re: Seat help?

The only other guide I've seen used on the 82 and up camaros is this one

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...guidegray.aspx

But that one only has one screw where yours has spots for two.

actually is you look closely there are two screw holes on the back side of the plastic to support the the enitre piece and only one in front to encolse the actual seat belt. So it has 2 screws that go into the seat. I also found this one..

Re: Seat help?

Hmm I'm not sure then, haven't seen that style in place before that you linked. I have ones like the second link but mine have a single screw on the outside, no screw on the inside.

I guess it all depends on the year. I might have to call the guy I bought the car from and figure it out. This link has a bunch of different ones http://johnnydees.com/iroc/seat/parts.html

Re: Seat help?

All the seat belt guides attach to all the seats - so pick the one you like.

My 1990 had these on it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SEAT-...Q5fAccessories

I replaced with these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82-92...Q5fAccessories

My 1992 Camaro had these on it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SEAT-...Q5fAccessories

I replaced with these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82-92...Q5fAccessories

My 1997 Camaro had these on it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FIREB...Q5fAccessories

I replaced with these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SEAT-...Q5fAccessories

The 1997 is the wife's car, she's short, and likes the lower option of the "two hole" piece. I even turned them upside down and swapped sides so they were a bit lower.

SO ... in the end, ALL the 3rd gen and 4th gen seat belt guides ALL use the same hole pattern and ALL interchange.

Re: Seat help?

I would bet on the double loop style from 90-92 also. However find a style that suits you and use then. The 82 seats I have actually used the 78-81 triangular style loop original. I have found pictures of a few 'birds on here with the triangle style loop original.
