Steering column issues

I need to get the high/low beam rod to work with my turn signal switch. I think I am missing a piece. The turn signal has a hook looking part that looks like it would connect to something to move the rod that goes to the high/low beam switch. Does anyone know where I could get a picture or diagram of this connection. It worked before I took the column apart, but I don't remember how it was hooked up.

This should show the piece you need. It generally falls out when you pull off the housing.

Sure enough. The plastic piece did fall out. I kept thinking I was putting it back together wrong. The piece is plastic and about an inch long. It even has a tab that fits a groove in the column to guide it. I am glad too, I was just about to buy another column from the junk yard.

Re: Steering column issues

I am having the darndest time trying to figure out how that plastic piece works with the pull arm. Any suggestions or pics on how this is supposed to fit together? Right now I'm stuck on high beam.

Re: Steering column issues

The curved section at the top in the pic rides on the hi beam switch rod (the metal bar that runs down the column). The square slot engages inside the housing somehow, I can't quite remember how. There's only so many positions it can go, once you know which end goes on the switch rod, it shouldn't take more than 5 min of staring at it to figure out the rest.
