L.E.D. Dome Light disapointment
I just recieved my LED Dome Light from SuperBriteLEDs. I must say, Im quite disapointed to find out that the light is not too bright. It is bright without the Dome Light Cover lens, but with the lens on, it doesnt cut the cheese. The type I bought is model number:
RL4410-xHP9: Rigid Loop Festoon bulb-RL4410-CWHP9: Cool White

I did the same LED panel as shown in above link (well, not from Superbright, but cheap China model) and it's blinding!

It was over a year ago, so ebay history no longer there. But it was one just like this (they are all about the same): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Car-I...Q5fAccessories

Bright enough to read by - all night long, in front seat or back seat (or even the trunk) - it's blindingly bright!
BTW - I also replaced my truck light with a 18 LED panel (18 LED panel needed since trunk light "facing" is much smaller than the dome light area).

Nice. But certainly it is brighter than the incandescent bulb right?

Re: L.E.D. Dome Light disapointment
I just dont wanna get burned as I just did by SuperBriteLED.com. I got a LED for the dome light but it aint that bright. Also in their vehicle buld identifier, it claims that a bulb for the map light in the rearview mirror is of a certain type. Well that damb type ended up being WAY too bulky and it dont fit. So I may just use them for the trunk and the kickpanel lights.

At those China prices, all you have to lose really is time. It takes about 2 weeks to get them (slow boat, customs, etc.)
Mine is literally about 50 times brighter than the stock incandescent bulb ever was.

Re: L.E.D. Dome Light disapointment
Cool. Ill try to remember to take a picture of how I installed mine. All I did was use the Festoom spring loaded and pushed it all the way up and then put the LED board in the spot where the light bulb goes. The board is just wide enough to fit in the holder. Im very very pleased with the results.

Yup. The link that JamesC is another method. Its is a more permanent solution, but the way i did mine, it is still plug and play. In other words, you can still switch to a bulb if you chose to switch.
