Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Pre 90. 90-92 was the yellow letters.
I will be doing my gauges pretty soon as well. Still finishing up my suspension before going into it. I plan to do the Custom gauge work like many have done. For example:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...314-post1.html
and
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...-post1051.html
My base cluster ain't gonna cut it...

So far All I have done is the 3 Gauge pod pillar but that is being sold when I do the cluster.

Originally it was a '84 with 85mph speedo with the double needle and kmh on it. I swapped the speedo with a 115mph. Whiteguages includes all the different typed of speedo and tach guage faces so I just used the ones I liked.

Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Not much of a mod but I had a hard time living with the bumpout faceplate Pioneer installed on PT so I purchased one of these custom face plates from Humbolt and proceeded to gut the dash. It was worth it. :-) U also migh notice my shifter plate was once an auto plate. I converted it with a little dremel and upholstery magic.
Before

and After

I am not sure what is up with the dust bunnies in this pic, but it shows the LEDS which I think are cool.

I can't take credit for this. This was done by the Pioneer Dealer in Indy. They did a decent job. Now I need to make some handle to remoe it when I go racing. They kept it light (by request), if your a stereo guru, but if your into racing it is still almost 100 lbs or more.

Interior isn't done yet, but I'll throw a few pics up of my gauge cluster. All custom made, and using autometer cobalt gauges and colored LED lights for the turn signals, brights indicator, and CEL. Also have (IMO) the sweetest head unit Alpine ever made. CDA-9886...bio lite display, ipod control through the face, etc etc...probably hundreds of bells and whistles I'll never know how to use lol.

Nice Job Whitedevil. That is one of the few aftermarket gauge installs on a TA that actually that improves on what the factory delivered as far as looks go. Did you cut the stock dash off to the right???

Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
EDIT: Dave, did you mean the dash itself by the map pocket? If so, interior is all original...no cuts anywhere. It's just missing a bunch of pieces currently. Didn't know if you were talking about the actual dash, or the cluster.
BTW, Intimidator Z, I LOVE those overlays on your 91! One of the only style I've seen that I actually really like. Gives it that 4th gen LS1 gauge look. They don't look like they were cheap, especially since they have the chevy bowtie on them.

They are bright. I incorporated my factory dimmer **** to work with them so I can dim them down pretty low....just so I DON'T get blinded at night haha.

Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Slowly getting my interior back together.
I'm using a Metra Install kit for my Radio. Its convertible from Flush mount to a 1" extension. I had to cut out my radio brace and chop out the driver side center console heat duct to flush mine, but it looks so much better now. the Silver radio trim ring is going away... I have a new black one. Wanted to see what it would look like...
New Carpet is in now, All the rusting socket head screws are being replace with stainless steel, and I'm in the process of installing a B&M shifter now as well.. More pics next week probably. Holidays have got me busy.

I tried putting pictures on but couldn't figure out how to run my phone... It's official my smart phone is smarter than me. Anyway a friend and I hand made this dash. I'm quite proud of how it turned out. Now I just need matching gauges

Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
I put in some LEDs for my 86 TA gauges that I got from ebay and I regret to say I shouldve spent the extra money. My red gauges were barely visible in the night. So I decided to go to superbrightleds.com and got the 5x WLEDs with a 220 degree angle. Now they are lit up like christmas and look great. heres the link if you're looking for some 194 replacements
>> http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...ini-wedge.html
I'll post some pics soon. Oh, and they're completely dimmable, something I was worried about when I was first considering LEDs
