Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
I do a lot of driving at night (yay for graveyard shift) with the windows down. so, I have to adjust them every time I get a truck behind me at just the right height.
On a side note, I had to argue with someone that it wasnt a manual. I finally told him that he was right, and it had an advanced computerized clutch system that requires no third pedal. He called me a smart *** and stormed off. I love stupid people.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Made my own dash set up...
Used lexan and autometer gauges.. Kept the factory high beam and turn signals. Painted lexan from back side and places arrows and chevy logo where factory stuff was. Hid all the screws from sight.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Made a ashtray delete plate for my car, has a th350 trans so the letters and numbers of the stock shift plate were bothering me lol but adding autometer gauges next and then toggle switches controlling all the lights in the car

Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Sorry for crossposting this in other posts, but here's my dash. I only wish I could find reverse indiglo gauges but I'll settle for the white overlays. Love the look.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
I didn't like the camaro's 86 dash so I dropped in a 92 dash with Autometer cobalt gauges, 4th gen console and 85 Firebird radio mount with custom HU from maptech.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
I Made this console plate that I cut out on a laser cutter to put into my 83 trans am , used 1/8in birch ply that I painted and poly'd but also made one out of abs plastic that I'll post pics of later. If interested pm me with any questions

Boost gauge in center vent area.
Tach above that on top of dash.
Pillar = WB and FP

My favorite part is the new Magnetic tablet and Phone holding center console piece. (where the radio and heater controls are normally) Using bluetooth or 3.5 jack to play through 4 ch amp to aftermarket speackers.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
I did an LS swap in my 82 camaro. I want to use a cluster from a 2000 camaro SS,. I see where LBC_camaro91 put gen 4 gauges in his Gen 3.. I am stuck on stupid on how to wire the cluster. I am assuming it all will go through the ODBII port, just not sure what I need to connect to what.and what I need to do it.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
Nothing goes to the OBD2 port. The link below is detailed wiring diagrams for a 2000 Camaro. That will unlock the mystery of wiring pinouts for the gauge pod. Basically just replicate it for the gauge circuits and things will work.
You will also need detailed schematics for your 82 Camaro so you can figure out which wires will bring the sensor signals through your firewall.

Pretty sure you have that covered but just in case. Make sure you have the correct sensors to drive the gauges. Specially fuel level sending unit and speedometer.
Re: I want to see your custom gauges and other interior mods!
I am trying to do the same thing in my 82 but I am not a wiring guru. I do not understand how the gauges are communicating with the senders since there is no dedicate wire for the tach or fuel sender on the 2000 cluster. Not sure how to get the signal to all the gauges .I looked at a wring schematic and I see all gauges go to a 12V switched ignition and there is a constant hot wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume that the ecm (LS) drives the speedometer. The ecm must receive a signal from the transmission. Usually, the gauges get 12V and the grounds are controlled by sensors. Now we are hacking this thread. I suggest you start a thread for your swap. That could be interesting to get some info from/for the community. Maybe there is already a thread somewhere on the topic.

Here’s mine. Auto meter tach and speedo, iPad for DashCommand and InfinityBox control. Fuel pressure, oil temp, fuel pump voltage, and L/R wideband. 4th gen console.

I'm looking to do the same dash in my 1992. Do you mind sharing how you mounted it?
