Dropped socket down air vents

While trying to put my dash back on after replacing speakers, a socket fell off the ratchet and went down the air vents. What do I do? Can't see the socket down there, I don't have a small enough extendable magnet to fit in the vent under the window due to clearance. Help please

Re: Dropped socket down air vents

Like I said, extendable magnets don't work due to the clearance under the window. On the other hand, gscz28 your idea worked. Thank you very much!

Re: Dropped socket down air vents

magnet on a string.......great to get dropped bolt, nuts, screws or anything magnetic out of hard to reach places. i keep one with about 5 ft of string hanging on the garage wall.
