Firehawk Center console?

Ive got what might be a stupid question, but Im going to ask anyway.

Is it possible to find one of the SLP firehawk center consoles? I know there are a few of the t-rams floating around, and while the wheels are rare they can be had. I cant afford a real Firehawk, but I would like a clone. In the interest of making it as real as possible, it needs one of the special center consoles, that SLP made for the 6-spd. I spent a few days looking around the internet, but it seems noone has anything on them.

Does anybody have a clue if they even exist? Did SLP only make them for each car? I may have to make my own.

Re: Firehawk Center console?

They are just a fiberglass insert that requires major cutting of the factory console. I'm guessing you will findout that the pattern and all that were made, were burned up in "the fire".
You will have to custom make your own as I'm doing.

Re: Firehawk Center console?

I realize this is an old thread but I’ve seen a Firehawk(not sure which #)with a 91-92 Firebird 5 speed console so if anyone is cloning a hawk that would be you’re best bet imo.

Re: Firehawk Center console?

I thought the ZF6 moved the shifter too far backward for the stock console to fit and that's why they had the custom console.

It's back a bit and to the left about 2 inches. That doesn't make the shifter centered and hits the edges, which is why SLP made the console part.

The difference was minor so the 5spd console did fit but yes I do believe they decided to make the console that eventually ended up on most Hawks.

Perhaps we’re looking at a partial clone here?

Re: Firehawk Center console?

It is a press car. Didn't have all the production parts on it for early testing.

Re: Firehawk Center console?

Not that I've seen but that doesn't mean there weren't any.. Some consoles are a bit different than the standard one though.
