Sticky Accelerator Pedal

Hi,
I've just bought an '88 GTA. The first thing I've noticed is that the accelerator pedal sticks for the last few mm when I lift. It eventually releases (after a few seconds) but it does mean that when I'm braking to stop the engine over revs.

My initial thought was that there must be a release spring that may need replacing but there doesn't seem to be one.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so... HOW THE HELL DO I FIX IT!?

Tim

Re: Sticky Accelerator Pedal

Declip the throttle cable at the TB and feel both for smoothness to determine if the pedal and cable are free.

Thanks but no need... turns out that part of the dash was pushing on the pedal arm. Simple!

More embarrassing things have happened, one time I thought my gas pedal was sticking at a certain throttle position. I looked over the pedal, cable and linkage, turns out that the top of the pedal was just catching a ridge on my shoe.
