i went the cheap route on the 4th gen dash pad
I dont know if anyone has done this or not but i didnt feel like spending 300+ dollars on a dash pad that i would have to cut to make it fit. I installed my 4th gen dash about 2 years ago and have been riding around without one so now i decided to make it look a bit better here is what i did. I only spend about $35 to do this and IMO it was worth it

The only reason people put ugly *** dash pads in is if the dash is all cracked up. If it's not then why would you put a ugly *** dash pad on? I think they look like crap. I have one in my car because, well my dash is cracked.

Gas-bag opinions not-withstanding,
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
I assume the $35 was for material cost, so what I want to know is
how that was accomplished?
That looks pretty good for a DIY project.

....so what did you do? Only obvious non-stock item I see is the dash mat, and gauges in most of the a/c vents.

IMO, it looks way better with the dash mat on there than the 100s of others I've seen with that huge gap between the dash and windshield. The gauge position looks good too, though I'm not crazy about the wheel there - but still better than one of the airbag wheels haha

i bought a new GM one, I'll cut it shortly back down, because the first perfect one I cut shattered into 10 pieces right before world of wheels, whoops. I'll be using those cracked pieces to cut out filler pieces for the gap from the dash to the pillar plastics that I'm missing

^thats what I'd be scared of if I bought a new dash pad I bet I would get pretty upset if that happened to me lol and as stated before the dash pad looks much better than just a whole between the dash and windshield

I went to lowes got some metal duct tape then to jo ann fabrics and got some vinyle and spray adhesive
then you make a cut out from cardboard then wrap it in the metal tape this allows it to be firm and plyable then wrap it with the material of chioce it looks better than stock ill try to get a pic I did it 9 years ago and it still looks good
