hatch motor constantly running

it doesnt want to stop from being 'on', i think it is currently in the 'down' position, so it keeps wanting to pull it down more. if that makes sense. i replaced the relay as a longshot guess, to no avail. am i needing a new motor, or is it something else i need to check?

Re: hatch motor constantly running

Top down solutions has a really good PDF on the hatch pull downs: http://www.top-downsolutions.com/Doc...structions.pdf

Make sure to check out step five in the very last set of instructions too.

Re: hatch motor constantly running

Use the Tech Article that I posted on TGO under the General Repairs category instead of the instructions from my web site. We're completely re-doing the TDS web site to run on new software, so unfortunately all those old links most likely will no longer work.

Remember, hatch motor running continuously = bad gear nut.

If anyone needs to order parts or has a tech queston for me, call or e-mail me. The site should be up again soon, but it may be a couple of days working thru all the little glitches. FYI, I'm not migrating any customer info over to the new web site, so you'll have to register again. I still have everyones customer info (addy, etc saved on QuickBooks though).
