Re: gauge cluster years?
There was little changed on the cluster itself from 1985-92. I know for a fact that 85s still had the 85 mph speedo, but not sure if they went to the 120-140 mph unit in 1986 or 1987. I guess one dead giveaway for a 1990-92 car would be the presence of an airbag light.

Re: gauge cluster years?
'85 and some base '86 clusters were made by AC delco
and had orange reflected lighting with non-lit pointers.
Most '86 up clusters were made by nippondenso and
feature "through the dial"red orange lighting and lighted
pointers. Among the '86 up clusters some are cable
driven speedos and some are electric. On the delco
clusters, there is usually a date code on the printed
circuit or a date sticker though most of those stickers
likely have fallen off by now...

Mine's electronic and only goes to 110, would be cool if somebody knew the years and trims that had the different numbers as well as tach numebers.

Re: gauge cluster years?
Nippondenso cluster for LG4 would be '86 or '87,i think
those have a date stamp-a little round stamp with some
japanese writing and a strip through the center with a
date-possibly day/month/year order and possibly
japanese calender year instead of"western"calender year
