Racing Steering Wheel

I have a 1987 Chevy Camaro LT. I'm currently looking into swapping out and modifying the Interior. I found an NRG Racing Steering Wheel that goes great with the look and coloring of my Interior ideas. I don't know anything about the technicalities, so I was wondering if someone could help me or direct me to a good place to get the information I need to properly install this Steering Wheel and also inform me of any extra parts I may need to fit it in my car.

P.S. Also note that my Steering Column and Tilt have become loose overtime. I got it tightened but it became loose again shortly after so I need this replaced as well. If you have any thoughts of how I could fix all these issues simultaneously feel free to state them.

This is a good thread, I was really thinking of NRG for a while but ultimately decided not to, notice in those pics how far forward the wheel is moved. Even without the quick release NRG's adapter sticks out a ways. For our cars, a Grant wheel seems the best option as it will almost sit flush.

Re: Racing Steering Wheel

I saw the picture in that Thread and I see what you mean about it sticking out pretty far. I'm not sure it would hinder my driving or not (looks like it would have a better 'racing' feel and control) but I don't like the way it looks. I'm looking for something that benefits control but also the Interior's appearance and that looks really gaping. I want something that fits and blends right in, you know?

It'd be much better if we could just swap out the Column itself so that it fits right in place...

Go on summit or jegs and look at the grant wheels. They have many styles, but the price goes up quickly...

Re: Racing Steering Wheel

My NRG - Pilota Steering Wheel, Gen 3.0 Quick Release, Short Hub and Quick Lock (all in Black), came in this week and I plan on doing the install this weekend. I put the whole thing together in my livingroom, it does look F'N SICK as H3LL!!!!! I held it up to the car and it didn't look that much longer than stock...just stay away from the "Deep Dish" setups and you'll be good. I'll do an Aftermarket Review for you guys and take loads of pictures.

Re: Racing Steering Wheel

My iroc-z I just bought came with this grant wheel, I have a silver version one that I might put in it. All you need is the installation kit they sell for our cars which can be bought from them or check any auto parts stores.
