Steering column/ turn signal stick help!

Recently I had my steering wheel off and I bumped the stick with my head because I was crawling underneath the dash. Well, now the left flasher stays solid on the dash and the tail light, the front light doesn't even come on. Also I took the steering wheel off because it started clakkclakkclakking when I turned the wheel and shooting spark too, so my main question is how do I get the gear that locks the wheel out?

Well, the metal piece that goes in between the 2 contacts for the blinkers somehow came loose and the wheel lock gear grabbed it, mangled it, and made it shoot sparks. It looks like it is just held in by some type of glue, I'm not surprised that the glue melted as hot as that area under the dash gets from engine heat.
