Not sure what to title this?

My 91 Camaro IS my first car.. I wanna put little things into it, to make it different. To stand out from the other camaros around.. Its getting an engine swap and things now, then when it gets home, i plan on doing little things to make it look nicer, sound nicer, etc..
-Anyone know some cool things i could do to this car ?
post pics?

Re: Not sure what to title this?

What do you mean "stand out from other Camaros"? They're aren't hardly any around anymore, unless you're talking about 4th and 5th gens.

Re: Not sure what to title this?

Actually, there are quite a few 3rd gen's that are in my town, & surrounding the surrounding towns. But 4th gens are more popular..
I just want mine to be a "head turner." lol,

Re: Not sure what to title this?

nice strongly built 383 with 3" headers running wide open..... thats a head turner...and ear killer LOL. seriously though just do your own thing, in my town i have the ONLY thirdgen running around so i get looked at alot even though i have tossed different parts on mine. IE: iroc hood, z28 wheels, firebird spoiler, flowmasters 80 on a v6, all on a sportcoupe.

Well if you're in Mobile, then I'm only about 45 minutes away from you. The few third gens I see around are hacked up beaters. The biggest head turners in my opinion are the ones that have managed to stay stock and still look pristine.

If you really want to redo your interior, look up the CoverGirl on this board, she can change it up without making it look trashy. She's just a short drive over to Milton.

Re: Not sure what to title this?

Want to make it stand out from other 3rd gen Camaros? Restore it back to all stock. I can't remember the last time I saw a nice one in person that wasn't a ridiculously low mileage car going through a muscle car auction.

If you want it to look like all the other 3rd gen Camaros, then dye the blue, red, or gray interior to black with a rattle can, remove the air conditioning system, put a set of cloth 93-96 Camaro seats in it, throw some ugly wheels and a cheap non-factory color paintjob on it, then fill the engine compartment with chromed pot metal and red parts.

Re: Not sure what to title this?

When I decided to make my car look a little different from most I went with the "slightly" raked body with staggered (old school)wheels and was pushing for more of a 1/4 mile look,so when it comes to setting up your Camaro you can choose to do that or go with a low and mean look with Corvette style/newer trend wheels(that seems to be the one most choose). Then there is the stock look. Mines a DD so I like the fact its not low. Heres a thread that may help you and it will give you ideas as to how to set up yours.

Clean paint, clean wheels, good tires, wash and wax it religiously, and keep the interior clean. a nice sounding exhaust is also a plus.

Re: Not sure what to title this?

Well for me and in my area, there are but 1 or 2 thirdgens. And neither are a Firebird or a Trans am. Theyre all camaros. The camaros are also the only ones you see at the car shows. So i always stood out. But since my restore, i think i stand out a LOT more than most cars. For this achievement, i painted the car white which is a bright color. The car was originally black so i have black accents that also stand out.I have the stock 16 inch crosslace rims that my dad and buddies driving next to me have said REALLY make you look at it. I also threw on a custom Cowl hood molded onto the stock trans am hood that me and my dad did. A fourth gen spoiler was another big thing. Something cheap that is easy to do is really just decals and simple mods. My windshield has PONTIAC in big white letters. My back window has a red Pontiac Racing decal on it, the Zelda logo, and a RIP decal for my favorite drummer who has inspired me since day one. I also have shiny chrome exhaust tips. And also i have ALL black interior. So my trans am really stands out from other ones i think. The t tops are also tinted. The car will be tinted with 50 or 35 % all the way around soon. I also received a FREE 3 inch flowmaster system from a buddy that only has a few hundred miles on it. So i got some fun ahead of me. Interior wise,im just doing black and white leather seats pretty much, Redoing my headliner and so on. OH! I also have a custom sub box in the back and the rings around the subs are painted the same color as my car. So it really can just be little things that work. Having a thirdgen alone is a big way to make it stand out on its own. Ill post some before and after pics.

Heres day one:

After my dad messed with it a bit.(thats him with the car)

Then a 350 swap

Yeah it looked good from far away black. Click on my link in my signature to see why its now painted. It was covered in dents and damage everywhere. Scratches and gouges.

In my next post i will post how the car sits now(:

Re: Not sure what to title this?

I must say you have a very nice car there. (:
I was so close to buying a 3rd gen trans am, but I just liked the way the front of the camaro looked. Like the headlights and such.
Now I'm kinda wishing that I went with the trans am, ):
Oh well,

The car tunred out very nice lookng. I'm not a fan of the 4th gen spoiler, but to each his own. Over all the car is very nice. The hood is very cool.

Shoot you should be where I live. There are 3 3rd gens for sale with in 3 miles of my house and I know of one person in my neighborhood that owns one too. Though all of them look like they are on the 25000 miles before they die and go to a junkyard though
