Carpet installation
I have seen few carpet ads which either they sell one piece all together, or the driver/passenger separately?
Do they come separate to avoid removing the console? Are they cosmetically look different?
Thanks

Re: Carpet installation
Usually (from my Camaro experience), it's two sections. One is from firewall to backseats and the second is for the hatch area. Spend a little more and buy with as many pre-cuts (console area) as possible to make installation easier.

They don't come side to side, their front or back!!!!
Re: Carpet installation
I just did carpet and everything already said is correct. However, you could do it without removing console. You can cut out the old one and then cut a u shaped channel and install the carpet around the console and tuck it in. I removed the console...I think it is easier this way.

Re: Carpet installation
Swapping the carpet is a decent first project, it'll help you see how things go together and instill some confidence so that you can handle some larger projects later on. As others have said, go for the two peice precut carpet from a good vendor and take your time doing it, bag and label the screws and bolts that you remove, take pics of how things go together when you're taking them apart, whatever you have to do to make yourself comfortable with doing it and if you run into any problems, don't freak out. Remember, you've got an entire forum of people supporting you that can usually just look at a picture of a bolt or a hole and tell you exactly where or what goes there!
Re: Carpet installation
Just figured I would post for anyone else looking. I came across this post when doing some more searching for carpet.
I found another valid code for 25% off at yearone.com code is PARTS8 and is good until 8/16 It was enough to get me to finally order my carpet, and insulation.

Re: Carpet installation
I really don't know how you can replace the carpet w/o removing the console. For carpet I recommend 1A Auto. Add some thermo insulation underneath while your at it.
Re: Carpet installation
Unless your carpet is literally torn or you are changing colors, you can remove it, take it to a self-serve car wash, and pressure wash it. The carpet in these cars is tough & will take it & will look like new when you're done.
I did this again last week on some carpet I scored from a '91 RS at the local scrapyard. The t-tops had been left out & the carpet was stinky & matted..but it looks like new now.
It's more work buying used carpet if yours is shot but it's a lot cheaper & more fun
