Cleaning out air duct work
Hello,
I'm brand new to this forum and am hoping someone can help me out with some information on my '84 Trans Am restoration project I have just begun.
The car has sat stored in a barn for almost 14 years. Needless to say it has been infested with rodents. I just finished gutting the entire interior and plan to replace with new seats, carpet, etc., as well as clean and paint all the interior plastic to bring things back to life.
After cleaning up pounds of rodent droppings, nesting material and the like, I've come to the conclusion that there must be a fair amount of the stuff also lurking in the air duct work. Stripping out the interior was not that bad of a job, but I am a little hesitant in ripping into the dash...never done that before.
Can anyone tell me where/how to start in removing/inspecting my air duct work to properly clean it? I probably should also think about replacing the heater core and blower motor while I'm at it...right? Does the entire dash have to come apart to complete this process, or is there another way? Recommendations?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

Invest in a factory service manual, I got mine on eBay and I use that thing about every time I work on my camaro. It has good illustrations and pictures, also tells you the proper procedures on how to do something.
