Transmission: A4
Axle/Gears: 3.73 gears posi
Time for another game of "WTF is this part?"

Ok, so I was working on the interior of the car (92' Z28) when this little booger...


Fell out of the steering column. I don't know what it is, where it came from, or what it's for. I am guessing it might be part of the tilt wheel assembly but thats only a guess. Anyone know what it is and where it goes? First to tell me gets a hardy pat on the back and a heart felt thank you.

Here's a follow up question, one end (apearantly the exposed side) has a threaded hole. What screws into it?

A screw. Or special puller tool.

You can simply tap them back in, the threads are for extracting with a screw in slide hammer

Yerp pivot pin. Not good that it fell out like that though. 91-92 are infamous for having the hole the pivot pin goes into ovaling out and causing some pretty massive steering column flop. I know mine had that problem... hope it's not that.
