I'm finally thinking about ditching the electrical tape wrapped factory wheel and am about to drop the hammer on this wheel for my car. Thoughts? Anybody used Summit Wheels before?

Looks good IMO. A little flashy but not so much as to be tacky.

I like it. How much does it run?

Tape it off , Paint the chrome flat black . Bad Azz IMO

Flashy but not tacky? What steering wheel are you looking at? Its a goofy chrome wheel meant for a 50's hot rod or a sparkly bass boat.

Theres not a single piece of chrome, polished aluminum, or retro corrugated swoopy batwing lines on our entire cars, much less in the interior. That doesnt match the car at all.

Our cars were themed after a Learjet in the interor. There's lot of aircraft cockpit references. You need something that fits that theme, something utilitarian and sharp with exposed bolts.

AND you can buy small parts you might need. (dont have to buy a full install Kit, to get 1 part..

One problem I've had with wheels styled similar to this (and a problem that you don't think about until after it's installed and you're driving the car) -- because there aren't any straight spokes, it can be hard to tell when the wheel is straight without moving the car forward to check. Generally the more elaborate the "curves", the harder it is to tell. Of course you can always mark the wheel with a straight line so that you always know, but still something to think about as they can affect drivability.

I have to agree, never liked that style of steering wheel especially in our cars. I went with the 3 spoke Grant GT Rally steering wheel and I think it meshes well with the interior, not too flashy but you still notice it. I love the feel of that steering wheel also.

Thats by far my favorite style of wheel in these cars. Definitely fits with the interior styling and looks racey. The original wheel is definitely not racey. You show up to an autocross or a rally or a track day with that chrome art deco wheel in an 80's Camaro and everyone is just going to snicker at it. But people that like the OP's wheel probably think your wheel is "boring" or something because it's not shiny or elaborate. Less is always more with our cars.

Grant wheels are great. Great functionality. I don't intend to do any auto cross. I'm just looking for something different, you know. I Get your point about the style of the steering wheel not fitting. I found a nice 3 spoke that I'm bidding on eBay right now. Decided to keep it simple.

Yeah not feeling the Summit wheel. I do like alot of the Grant wheels and had one in my 72 Nova and liked it alot! Grant wheels look good, work well and do not break the bank.
