Dumb question probably but can some one tell me what the panel is just to the rear of the power window switch and top switch. Haven't seen it before on 3rd gen camaros

 

no one has any idea what that panel is???

 

i dont think there is a name for that panel to be honest

 

what does it do. That's my main question. it has some type of indicators on it.

 

Oh wow i missed what you where taking about as I thought it was the lid latch to the console. Ive never seen that before

 

Take another pic of it so we can see it clearly.

 

I can't take a photo.. It is a car that I just say online. I wish I could see it better but it's definitely a stock part. Was just real curious.

no I have no idea. I have had the photo for awhile but dont now where I saw it.

 

It is not a factory installed part. If it was, there would be some mention of it in the owner's manual or FSM.

Edit: it's a control panel for a remote mount radar detector.

Cool. At least an aftermarket product has an almost identical grain pattern as the console so it can look like it would be an option.

 

Sure doesn't look aftermarket to me.

Didn't answer the question at all. I wanted to know what it was since it appears to be a factory option. Oh well. Not all things are answered in this world.

I have an 86 berlinetta...lots of switches...to the rear of window switches, I have a cruise control on/off switch as well as a rear window defrost on/off switch...

as you can see it has the bright red seats and the weird panel i would message the guy posting that pick to see what it is

 

I've seen a 1986 fully loaded once or twice. Seven buttons total on the console. Left window, Hatch release, Right window, Rear defroster, Rear wiper, Fog lights, Cruise control switch.

It was a car that was for sale on the net. I cant find it anymore so it must have been sold. Just curious. Car was a 91 rs with 11000 miles on it. Sold before I could get information on it.
