rear shoulder belt upgrade?
I'm currently putting my '86 back together from scratch using a wrecked '89 donor for everything down to the body harness.
The 89 has factory rear shoulder belts, and my '86 obviously does not. Since I'm combining two cars into one functional one, I don't mind 'upgrading' since I have the chance, to rear shoulder belts, since the rear seats are set up for them. I see the brackets and already cut them from the donor;however, it appears the drivers rear wheelhouse on the inside is flatter and lower in this area to accommodate the retractor in an '89... my '86 is not like this. There doesnt seem to be a difference on the passenger side.
Has anyone made changes in an '88 and earlier car for rear shoulder belts on here?
Eager to get this done, this car hasnt been used much or worked on much in over 12 years.
