Steering wheel

Steering wheel

I was just wondering if anyone would know if I'm able to attach a zl1 or corvette steering wheel to my steering column ? BTW I have a 87 z28

If you're talking about current or late model cars, then the short answer is no. The hubs on the newer GM cars are MUCH larger than the standard 1969-up GM square key columns. I'd guess the number of mounting splines is different as well, which will be your real problem.

With enough fabrication it could probably be done, but it's not a simple "just remove the old one and bolt in the new one" swap.

BTW, did you know that the current Corvette wheel was also used in everything from Saturns to Malibus? The ZL1 wheel is basically the newer version of that wheel, and is also now in many of GM's other lesser cars. Personally, if I'm going to take the time to swap my steering wheel, I wouldn't want to end up with the same thing that some old blue-haired lady has in her Cobalt.
