Interior color options
Interior color options
So I'm painting my car like the attached photo when I finally get more than $5 in my wallet and was wondering how I should do the interior. My two choices are black fake leather (I'm poor, can't afford real leather) or tan/cream fake leather for the seats and then matching carpet/doors/headliner/dash for either color. I'm not sure which one to go with. Any opinions?

not tan/cream...
it barely looks good with any body color.
you can do grays more then one is good with dark colors
black and reds always make it look plush.
Italian Lamborghini and Ferrari to name a few have run the tan/cream color to death in their cars. and never looked better till they went with dark colors.

All BLACK
or all tan with black carpet.
SEM makes very good interior spray paint.
Don't forget to get the plastic spray prep promoter. Helps bond the paint to the plastic trim.

Re: Interior color options
Normally I'd say Blue to match the stripes, but that would look HIDEOUS on a Black car.
With Blue stripes, I'd say your only real option would be Black, or Gray. If you didn't have Blue stripes, I'd say bright red interior.
I wouldn't recommend real leather for any daily driven car. It just doesn't last.
Make sure you do the color change right, and take your time with the prep work. I can't tell you how many cars I've seen ruined by half-assed black rattlecan interior spray jobs. You might want to start looking for used Black seatbelts now as they're hard to find, and don't take to dye very well. Also plan on buying Black carpet unless you like resting your feet on thick crunchy plasticized dark purple-ish fibers. If you decide to go Gray, I'd just try and buy most of the interior pieces used instead of dyeing. Seems like Gray is the easiest color to get anything in for our interiors.
