Steering Column Help. (Franken Column)

Steering Column Help. (Franken Column)

Okay, so I had the problem with the loose tilt mechanism and all that jazz, I tightened it once. Didn't help much. Wiggles like freakin rope on a horse. SO, today I picked up a new (used) steering column from the junkyard. Okay, so it is a tilt wheel, and it had this steering wheel:


Anyways, I took it off, and it looks like some parts are broken under the broken housing, and this is the housing I am talking about:


SO, the question is, is there some way I can just get the tilt mechanism out of the overall bad steering column, and put it in the overall good column?

Edit: I didn't really look to much into either column once I got it home, because it started to rain. Just encase this is a stupid question.
