Formula cup holders

I saw a pic of a 1990 Formula that had a cup holder assembly on the door panel. Wouldn't these fit with very little effort to the Camaro door panels?

Re: Formula cup holders

Did you need to fab a plate behind the panel, or did they use existing holes in the door frame?

Re: Formula cup holders

I drilled holes inteh door and then pushed the 3 plastic screw retainers into the holes. I used the same square plastic screw retainers as used on Licence plates.... then used the large factory TORX screwes to mount the cupholders.

I "think" all doors at least 89 and up have the correct holes so you only need the retainers and put holes in the door panels .

Yep, just like the ground effects on the passenger door and passenger front bumper corner, they seem to be broken/missing on at least half of the 91-92 Firebirds I've seen.

Re: Formula cup holders

Same here, had mine for over 15 yrs, no issues. You just gotta keep in mind to lift your leg, so your shoe dont slam into it.Think my 84 had two of the three holes on the door.Look for the square hole/s.

Re: Formula cup holders

I installed a set of them in my fiero since it has nowhere else to put a cup holder. Covered them in a vinyl wrap to match interior and havent had any problems with them. Im running a 98 trans am console in my thirdgen so it has four cupholders built into it
