Interior smells like garbage(acura)

I really hate to post about an acura on thirdgen.org but I need help. I got into my acura after work last night and it smelt like garbage. I drove to the gas station, shook the mats out and bought an air freshner and this morning it's even worse. There's no food or spilt drinks in the car. I read it could be the ac drain hose but would that really cause a bad smell if clogged? Thanks guys

Yes. It clogs and gets stuff wet and it molds. You need to find it. Or a mouse died somewhere. I had that once. Sucks.

But would it randomly start smelling in one day? I also get the sound of coolant in the dash and my dad has said the passenger side floor mat was wet once (yet he denies it now since it's his car and he's convinced I did something to it)

What year? does it have a cabin filter? Some people use Lysol in the air vents to kill mold. You spray it in the intake with it on full blast.

You could have a bad cat. If I remember correctly a bunch of Trailblazers had an issue where there was a rotten egg/sulfur smell outside and sometimes inside the car. I would have them check those for an issue if it is something that just popped up all of a sudden (once you have eliminated the obvious dead animal/something under the seat)

If you hear water sloshing behind the dash and have had some on the floor mats I would check the drain for the HVAC box. If the box is full it will stagnate and stink.
