climate control Blower problem

I have a 92 RS V6. It's a "fixer upper" When I bought it the blower doesn't come on. When I turn the slow/med/fast switch/**** on the climate control panel it makes the clicking noise, but will spin around and around. The blower never comes on. I ran a wire from the battery to the post on the blower electrical connector under the hood the blower came on and ran. I replaced the relay under the hood as well as the gizmo that is inside the heater box under the hood that has an electrical plug sticking out of it and inside the box there are some metal coils. It's held in the box with 2 screws. Is this the resistor? Doesn't matter, I replaced it. The blower still doesn't come on. I'm tired of replacing various parts, how do properly diagnose whats wrong? All I have is a basic circuit tester and a continuity tester. I have no way to check ohms or anything.

Re: climate control Blower problem

Those coils are the resistors all right. Basically you seem to have an issue with either the wiring between the switch and the blower or with the switch itself.
What do you mean by "clicking"? Do the vents click or just the switch when it enters another position?

Just the normal mild click, click, click when I change to each higher or lower fan speed, but after 3 or 4 clicks it will stop for a few positions then make the clicking some more. I think fan switch is bad but there doesn't seam to be any climate control panels for sale at any of the parts houses and I don't know how to diagnose it to know for sure.

After 3 or 4 clicks? IIRC, there's only 4 positions for the switch, including the off-position, no more.
So if there's more, I'd guess that switch has died.
