Defroster help needed
The HVAC selector lever will slidt from vent to heat, but will not move past heat to the defrost mode. Any ideas? Can this be a vacuum issue or is this mechanical?
Any help is appreciated.

I think you may have a bent cable.I had a similar problem like that and the cable had a bend in it.

Re: Defroster help needed
If your car is non-AC,..... It's mechanical. If your car is AC than it's vacuum.
If non-AC then it could be a bent/broken cable.
If AC then it could be a vacuum problem at the heater controller vacuum line connection or the Defroster vacuum lines.
I've seen a dead mouse block a air diverter door from closing before so it MIGHT be a blockage of the diverter door inside the heaters internal air box too. ( weird stuff happens all the time !! )
