turn signal cancel only works on a FULL turn
My turn signal cancel cam works but only if I turn the wheel nearly all the way one direction or the other. A simple 90 degree mild turn from one street to another will not cause the cam to cancel the signal.
Its not broken, it works. Any ideas or thoughts?

I had a similar problem, i found the solution to mine when i replaced the intermediate steering shaft. The PO had put the steering wheel in upside down. Im not sure how, my only thought was he disconnected the steering when he did his 350 swap and reassembled 180 degrees out of clock.

Interesting! I did have to replace this steering column completely due to a car theft. I wonder if I am the knucklemutt that put it in upside down. Let me see if I follow you correctly. Are you saying that the orientation of the D connector at the intermediate shaft has to be a certain way in order for the canceling to work proper. And if the D connector is essentially the wrong position then it doest work right? Or are you saying something else?

Yep, the steering is not centered. It's roughly 2 1/2 turns lock/lock.The middle of that is where you want your steering wheel centered. After this you'll most likely need to re-adjust your linkage.

if you look at the splined section of the steering shaft, where the steering wheel connects, the top should be "missing" a few splines, its maybe 1/8" of unsplined shaft signifies the top.

I'll look. Pretty sure I have it that way. Seems to me that it wouldn't even be possible to do it wrong. But apparently it is. I'll report back as soon as I can look. Thanks

WELL!!!! Butter my butt and call me a biscuit! I disconnected the main steering shaft at the double D connection to the intermediate shaft, slid the intermediate forward a bit which freed up the main shaft. Then I turned the main shaft 180 degrees. Put it all back together and it now cancels perfectly! I would have never thought of that. Thanks my friends. That's why I post on these forums.
But now my steering wheel is upside down!
By the way. Any readers to this post. When you find solutions to your problems please return to your post and tell us what worked or didn't work. That helps a ton!

You can correct the wheel by removing the torx screws under the horn button & simply rotating the wheel.
