82 Z28 Anyone recognize this unplugged wire? (Under shifter plate)

Took the shifter plate off to replace my rear hatch switch and hopefully fix my reverse lights but stumbled upon this unplugged wire. Ideas?

Don't know specific wire colors or anything, but I know on auto trans cars the reverse light wire goes to a switch that is on the shifter and there is also some sort of wiring to cut out the hatch from opening when not in park or neutral

I have the same unused plug and wires in my '84 manual transmission, no power seat, no power windows, no console clock, but does have rear hatch release.

I posted a year ago asking the same, but do not recall the answer.

That is the connector for a console clock. All 82-85 camaros have the connector weather you had the clock or not

My 83 Firebird T5 has that plug too. You sure it's for a clock? Thought it was something for automatics.

Yep, clock harness.

Black wire= ground
Orange wire= constant 12v
Gray wire= 12v for backlighting (when park/headlights are on)
