So looking around for a decent set of carpet floor mats. In searching with google it seems the 2 choices for quality are ACC or Llyods, as it seems the number one choice CarMotorSports doesn't make them anymore.
I see Classic Industries sells Lloyds, but not sure what brand Hawks sells???
In searching on google only really an older Corvette forum had a small bit of info. If ordered with an emblem, the emblems on Lloyds seem to be stuck on??? While ACC are sewn....
Anyone have experience with either of these? Lloyds make a few grades, ACC looks like 2.
I bought some Lloyd mats (medium gray) for my car last year and was disappointed that the color did not match my car's carpet color. They appear to have a little brown in them so I don't think it is just discoloration of my carpet from age. The front mats also have a much different shape than my original mats. Can't tell you much about ACC other than from what I've seen in photos they appear to match the look of the original GM mats both in color and shape. Can't comment on the emblems as I ordered mine without the them. If I had to do it again I would buy the ACC's.
I can only speak from my experience, but I just bought a set of Lloyd's mats for my girls 90 Corvette, and the quality was excellent with embroidered emblems. The fit and finish was excellent. Maybe we bought the better grade mat, I don't know.
I will say that the LLOYD's mats are very plush and thick. The quality is there and I was aware of the design/cut when I purchased them. The seller worked with me and exchanged them once because I was unhappy with the color but the color still was not spot on. They will also ship you color samples to help you decide if you request them.
My color should be easy for either company, just straight jet black. My interior is jet black, so can't be that hard to match. I just figure if your spending the kind of money for either of these vs generic mats, just make it a good one, fit, finish, longevity, looks.
Well I ended up getting a set of ACC mats, ordered end of the week so should see them late next week. Called AutoMatStore.com and talked to Samantha, she was extremely pleasant and helpful. I was totally on the fence about Llyods and ACC, they sell both and price was about the same for mats I wanted, I decided on ACC after conversation about both.
Also, thank you for your input guys, it also put my mind at ease from reading your posts that I would be happy with either mat. Thanks again!!
I've had both. The Lloyds are definitely plushier and of higher quality....but the acc ones are more factory colour and shape correct. I keep the acc ones in the car now and extremely happy with them. Got them from hawks along with the whole interior carpet kit.
I ended up optioning up to the higher quality essex mat choice, so it should be nicer than the standard mat, which puts it more equal to Llyods higher grade choices. I have had generic mats since I bought the car, they are the perfect color and were super cheap. But they have slid around for all these years... so these new mats will last me for life.
Lloyd in both of my 3rd gens.
They look great.
Contact Lloyds and they will send you carpet samples to help you pick the shade you want.
Ordered mine through Summitt.
Well thats not good hearing that.... hopefully mine come out nice. Good thing for me is I have never seen either to compare or prejudge, so I will be none the wiser... lol
I worked with ACC many years ago to get the shape and floor contour correct for our cars. Eckler's was also involved with color matching. Prior to that, they had a one size fits all mat that bunched up in the passenger foot well. ACC used my original mats as a template to get them as close as factory correct as possible. The only thing they couldn't replicate was the 1x1" GM logo on the mats. That belongs to GM, so they couldn't put those on.
I just checked Eckler's website and they sell mats but the Stitching isn't the same as the ones Scottmoyer posted. The Camaro is in a writing format instead of regular stencil.
I am working nightshift so will have to stay up a little longer tomorrow morning and wait until ACC opens to order!
I ordered the ones like i asked about scottmoyer has from www.camarodepot.ca
Canadian Funds and same price as I would have paid through ACC...dont see a Canadian price the same as US pricing ever!
