Hi Brian
I had a similar issue on my 88 GTA, and I took it out, which is only a 10 minute job, put it on the bench, got a heat gun on it, and then secured it from the inside under the top plate, and it looks 97% as good as new
Not a hard or long job, but just a bit fiddly

And Gorilla Glue. Worked like a champ. Let it set up for 24 hours before removing clamps.

this! i did the same with a spare console i had , and worked very well. i have not put it in a car, but its held to its form for over a year now, sitting on a bench in the shop.

Yeah, a common failure with the late Firebird console.
I too need to follow Bob88GTA's lead and do this repair on mine. It's not bad yet, but it's not right, either.

I wanna do it to make the interior look better. Its fairly good condition, just minor issues such as the center consle

I also used the glue method. Works great and is really cheap. Hard to find a solid console.
