I have the leather glove pouch for a trans am I actually got out of a junk yard because my gta one was ripped up. I was wondering if there's anything I could wipe it down with to make it look brand new.
Here's the pouch, not the gta version but close enough for free haha
For an "over the counter" solution, Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner works pretty well. Work the cleaner in with a horse hair brush or one of those yellow leather brushes. It may take a couple applications to get it perfect. Wipe off with a microfiber. Then apply the conditioner with a microfiber applicator.
Another product that gets talked about a lot but I have no personal experience with is Leatherique. It can restore uncoated leather to a brand new look and finish.
I'll throw my two cents into the ring... I help a buddy fix and flip wrecked GM tucks and we see quite a few that have seats that need some help. I use Meguiar's Gold, but have also used Lexol I picked up at a tack shop too. Lexol is used on saddles and in the equine industry and can be found at farm stores.
My process is to wipe the item down with leather cleaner and then I soak it with the conditioner. You want it to be wet with the stuff and I use a microfiber pad to really rub it in. You also want to make sure the leather is warm too. Sit it under a heat lamp, use a hair dryer, or set it in the sun. I let it sit for an hour or so, adding conditioner when needed, and then wipe off all the extra when it looks that the leather isn't sucking up the conditioner anymore. Let it dry and repeat the conditioner if needed.
So I actually bought some armor all, and sprayed it over the surface and worked it in circles with a soft bristled tooth brush and then wiped it down with a micro fiber rag and it came out actually pretty nice
There's the trans am one I cleaned that will be going on my gta.
