Firebird consol lid value?

So I swapped from a 700r4 to a t56 a while back. I chopped up my old lid for a B&M shifter when it was auto and now I want to do a nice shift boot for it and got a few lids from the local u pull to work with. My question is do these have any value before I modify them? I can’t use the one with the power mirror, the extra hole is the same problem I have with my current one. I just never find stick cars in the yard.

Re: Firebird consol lid value?

The one I have to cut out for the power window switches. Thought about moving the switches and putting a cup holder in it.
This is mine now. I hate the hole someone cut for fog lights or something. It was from a u pull 15 Year’s ago.

Re: Firebird consol lid value?

For future reference, what you are referring to is the shifter plate not a console lid.

There are 3 console shifter plates for manual transmissions on eBay right now, all for around $100. Hawks also makes a very nice reproduction for $159.

Shifter plates the name, Ok I always called the consol lid the broken floppy thing. I can’t believe they bring near $100. I hate giving more than $10 at the u pull, they don’t even ask what kind of car it came from.

Re: Firebird consol lid value?

Maybe I should drag out my boxes of old bird parts and try to sell them off to buy the right stuff.

Re: Firebird consol lid value?

I bought the manual shift plate from Hawkes. Nice piece. You have to cut your own window switch and mirror switch holes but there are location guides on the back. Don't use a dremel tool to cut them completely because it will melt the plastic and you will get a sloppy oversized hole. Drill around the cut outs first than connect the drill holes with the dremel.

Re: Firebird consol lid value?

Thanks for the advice on cutting the holes. I’ll be doing it with this blank auto plate since it’s not really worth anything. I’ll come up with a shift boot to cover the middle, need spend in other places badly.
