Hatch Motor constantly running - guide for removal?
1991 TA. I hit the dash hatch switch and the hatch opened, but the motor keeps running and the hatch never automatically raises. Removed the trim and unplugged motor and hatch will at least close and lock.
I think I'm going to go ahead and buy this entire assembly:

Has anyone seen a video detailing how to remove/install the entire assembly. I've not tried disassembling mine yet, but I didn't immediately see a way to remove the piece where the wire runs to the hatch lock and the wire runs from the dash to unlock the hatch. I'm assuming I have to use the same piece with the new pull-down unit. Any suggestions for removal?
I could likely save a few bucks by removing the motor and determining what broke, but due to the age and unknown condition of everything else I think I'm going to go ahead and just replace the entire pull-down unit.

Re: Hatch Motor constantly running - guide for removal?
Figured that part out, it was just the same screw which the ground wire was connected to.
Looking at my guide rails, it appears someone may have already upgraded them as they are black, not white. I'm tempted to just try fixing this thing now.
If I look down in there when I plug it back in I can see a metal rod rotating and can feel it on the end where it sticks out. That part is moving but nothing else is. What's the best way for me to try and identify the piece which is broken?

There is the plastic housing that likes to break around the mounting screws, and there's a plastic "nut" with gear teeth that runs with the motor to push the assembly up. If the guides look fine, and the unit doesn't flop all over the place, I'd probably take a look at the teeth on that nut.
