Headlight Switch

Might sound stupid but can someone tell me what this is supposed to be? Is it an illumination lamp for the switch / dimmer?

Re: Headlight Switch

Yep, it's just a light so you can find the switch and dimmer in the dark.

Don’t recall ever seeing it light up. Will check it out. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Headlight Switch

Any idea where I can find wiring diagram for it? Looks like its not a normal bulb most probably some neon. And I don’t have 12v on its wires. Colors are gray and black.

Re: Headlight Switch

It'd be on any Firebird wiring diagram on the page that shows the dimming interior lights. Black is ground, grey is 12v when the lights are on.

Re: Headlight Switch

Can’t seem to find any reference to it and apparently there is a transistor in play also which I cant see to find diagrams of. It is a firebird/TransAm thing not camaro from what I am reading.

Re: Headlight Switch

Thanks Drew. Managed to do some more investigation. Continued on another thread as I need to know the orientation of the dash connector.

See here if interested.
