Anyone got a step by step removal of the entire dash assembly? I'm talking everything including wiring, air box, etc. Thanks

Re: Dash Removal

I'm sure there are plenty of people who have done it, multiple times. To have a step by step is asking quite a bit. If you 've never done it before, it's "nuts and bolts" like anything else. If it's gonna be apart for awhile and you're worried about forgetting, create a log, document every step, bag and tag. When you go to put it back together, reverse steps. If you run into something unexpected or that you just don't know about, don't be afraid to ask. That way you're asking something specific and you'll probably get a load of replies. It's good experience, too.

Actually that's exactly what I did. Took awhile but got it done without destroying anything. Have numerous tagged bags and a sore body from all the weird positions I got into. Thanks for all the replies.

Re: Dash Removal

Glad you got it apart, I take a lot of pictures when I disassemble stuff, especially if I plan on leaving it apart more than a few days. 99% of the time I don't need them, but that every so often moment of what were the engineer's thinking, or is this a then b etc I'm glad I have pictures. Video is quite easy these days also, get a little mount for you phone and record you disassembling it....

I've never had the dash 100% out of my car but I hear its a bigger pain to get back in, you will want a second set of hands for the main structure.

Re: Dash Removal

When I took the interior out of my car I really worried about getting it back together, but when it came to it, it wasn't that bad. If you get into a tight spot, sit back and think about how it works and the logic usually directs you. It's set up logically, the wiring plugs are unique to the receptacles, the vent tubes only go one way, so if they don't fit, you got the wrong one in your hand.... I thought it was kinda fun

Re: Dash Removal

How much time should I allocate to a complete teardown, refresh (vent seals, plastic and linkage repair, cleaning) and reassembly. Figure a non-hurried, have-a-few-beers while I do it approach. Couple days?

I don't know how you handle your liquor, but it could be done in that amount of time....
