The yellow light (?) Just under the center face vents. 91 camaro.

Ha! I thought that, but.....no. Factory wiring to it. No aftermarket alarm system.

IIRC my friends 91 RS had the same light, but couldn't figure it out either. Now I think his was just burned out and it's supposed to be for the heater/radio controls and ashtray.

Thank you! Ive never seen it lit up, but never really looked either! Anyway, its acadamic now because ive used the hole for the 46 wires needed for the fueltech ecu!

I believe even on the 91 trans am I have a random illumination light over my ashtray area when the interior lights are on.

Yes, just a very low power, soft light for the HVAC, radio and ashtray area. If it's working, you can put your hand in the area at night and see it at work. Very subtle though, so it's not a distraction.
