OEM gauge cluster questions

So I just bought this 1985 base model camaro and I noticed it has the 85mph cluster. I’ve yet to swap my motor into the vehicle and I was wondering how do these gauges compare to the iroc gauges that I have In my donor car.

not my image, just the same cluster.

Re: OEM gauge cluster questions

The IROC should have actual guages vs the idiot lights of the shown cluster.

Re: OEM gauge cluster questions

If your donor care is an 86 or "newer" than it's cluster is not a DIRECT plug and play installation for the 85. The gauge clusters' printed circuit - and dash wiring - changed a little in 86. The 86 cluster WILL plug in and most of it will work fine..... but there will be a wiring conflict to the cluster back-lighting and to the BRAKE warning indicator.
