Pictures and dimensions needed on Camaro rear shoulder belt openings
I'm gathering up pieces to convert my 88 to rear shoulder belts. I have almost everything except for the large rear side panels. I have the cover panel boxes, just not the side pieces with the opening cut for the belts. My plan is to take a junk set of panels that I have and cut them for the covers to see if it will work prior to cutting mine. I was wondering if someone could send me some pictures of both the inside and outside of the panels (left and right) and the dimensions of the opening? Right now I'm not even sure if what I'm wanting to do is even possible, but I figured it would be worth the try since I had the stuff, before I try and search for a set from 89+ car.
Any tips would be appreciated as well.
Thanks

All I know is that the 89+ cars have brackets. I have a set of the brackets. Are the wheel houses different as well? Not a show stopper, but I would like to plan ahead. I had planned on laying them out based on the interior openings and pictures I have prior to removing the brackets from the donnor car.

Ah. Gotcha. Im going to see it through since Im in as far as I am. Thanks for the heads up.
And can anyone post some pictures of the rear with the covers in place? I know the top side has a lip that holds it, but Im not sure if the bottom has one of those plastic interior screws or what.
Thanks in advance.

Took a quick look yesterday to see the difference in the wheel wells. Pics are attached.
Think I'm going to need to find a junkyard nearby with an 89+ car, hopefully with interior intact so I can get the dimensions I need. Probably my best bet.

Been awhile but Im back on this. Got a set of plastics and rear belts so that I could line up the brackets. So far I have the passenger side bracket in. No issues. Driver's side is fairly different so Im still working on it. Wheel well is a bit taller and has some extra humps in it.

Aint that the truth! My 8 year old and 6 year old are tight! Thats honestly the only reason Im doing this. For when they do ride, they have shoulder belts.
Im 6'4 and my brother is 6'2. We have both rode several times in the rear of 4th gens, but we both always had to sit cross ways to do it!

In highschool or shortly after I remember having three passengers in the back of my 83 Camaro. Nothing but bitching and moaning from the girl that gut stuck riding on the hump between the seats.

Well, the driver's side is a lot different as mentioned before. It is higher by near an inch. I have tweaked the stock bracket to mount as low as possible in the 88 wheel well, but it is still 3/4" higher then it is supposed to. You would either need to box out the wheel well and drop it down, change wheel wells, or mount it as it is and make a new belt cover that is tall enough.
This car isnt a show car and I dont want to put the effort into wheel well replacements or boxing, so Im going to go as is and fix a cover later on.
