Recovering sun visors

Had some extra headliner material and thought id redo these formerly red visors. Not resto worthy, but they'll do.Tried using the sewing mch at work, but i'm better at hand stitching these, oh well.

Thanks. Im not thrilled with the hand stitching, i stitched my HT visors years ago the same way, they came out better too.I may eventually give it another go with the sewing machine.

Re: Recovering sun visors

can I send you mine? I can't stand that repos are 100+$. Years ago I had a an upholstery shop redo some for my 66 Chevy II and he did them in about 15 minutes in front of me - maybe I need to learn how to sew

They fade too, a friend bought repro's from classic and the faded within a few months. Ive got my old pair that i also hand stitched years ago, but theyre hard top visors.

Re: Recovering sun visors

I think they came out nice for a hand job! I had mine redone by a local guy with a material similar to Sumbrella, an outdoor fabric with a slight texture. This fabric has a uv coating so the sun won't fade it when the top is down. I removed them, dropped them off, picked the fabric and $75 and a week later I picked them up! They turned out awesome and should outlast me!
