Recommendations on Interior Carpet

Hey ya'll... it's looking like my front carpet is going to need replacing. I've got several stains that aren't likely to come out and it needs to be freshened up big time anyway. Anyone have experience with replacement carpets? Brands? Quality? Fitment issues? etc... I have heard that the replacements don't fit as well and/or the quality is not as plush as original. Anyone have direct experience?

I'll be replacing in a '92 with a grey interior.

Should I put in some sound deadener as well? or is it not worth the trouble?

Thanks!

If your carpet is undamaged, I would remove it and clean it. There’s no fit like a factory fit from my experience. This carpet was removed, soaked in a generous amount of Purple Power for several hours, then pressure washed.

Pretty amazing job, I have to admit. Unfortunately I think mine is too far gone... there are several rust stains, the rubber on the back is cracked in several places and the sound deadener that was glued on was pretty much destroyed pulling it out.

Additionally, I had a mouse and an ant colony living underneath it.

ACC carpet with mass backing seems to be the closest to factory available. It’s carried by many different vendors, so it may pay to shop around. RockAuto is usually priced low and you can use a discount code for an additional 5% off. I haven’t used it in a third gen, but have used it in other cars. It’s a nice product.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen an alternative to ACC for our cars. Sure you can buy from a few dozen different vendors, but generally it's always going to come from ACC. Research which ACC product you want, then shop around for the best price.
