Interior paint color questions
Hi all.
i am sure this has been asked and Ive been searching. Can anyone tell me what gray color spray paint is used to refinish the gray interior of my 89 formula plastic parts? Also, the door handl/arm rest is somewhat pliable. If I paint those, will the paint crack over time? Or will it have an additive?

Re: Interior paint color questions
SEM makes great interior paint for plastics. Finding an exact match in something pre-mixed will be tough. You will find something close in that line. If you want exact, you need to take a trim piece to a paint supply company and have it mixed. I did this years ago with my 82 TA with charcoal interior and the color I got was spot on. Just make sure the paint they sell you is for interior plastics and that you prep the panel properly by washing it with a strong all purpose cleaner. Then use an adhesion promoter prior to painting.

I reached out to Hawks Thirdgen sales and they told me SEM brand number 15393 matches the med. gray color.

Another option is go to an auto body paint supply place and look at the PPG book. They can blend you the exact GM color and put it in aerosol. I did this for interior on my GTA when I refinished the seat plastics when replacing the seat covers.

Yes that is a good idea. However, the paint shops around my area basically suck. Customer service is horrible.

We have a few local vendors here, Tasca and Ken Brault. No real issue, I had the SEM code for the correct GM Beechwood off a thread on here. But they also had the PPG book to cross reference with.
