The "APS" option ( Automatic Program Search ) was added to the 3-button cassette mechanism some-time around 1993. The cassette buttons and ***** are from an Oldsmobile so I'm guessing it's a 93-94 Oldsmobile UX1.
The code "UX1" simply means the radio has an Equalizer. There are dozens of different types of UX1 Delco radios out there. The one that 85Iroc-Z posted a picture of is the proper radio UX1 head-unit for a Chevy.

Yes; that's what an 86 Chevy UX1 should look like. It's not a 100% "points matching" radio because it doesn't have a black screen, but it's just about as close as you can get these days.
Maybe THAT radio because; The radio plugs were changed in the F-Body 88. 82-87 used large style plugs and 88+ used smaller style plugs. (Some trucks kept using the large style radio plugs till about 93; the brackets on that radio appear to be truck/van radio mounting brackets. ) Your 86 should use the large style radio plugs, so you are going to want to be sure that the radio you acquire also uses the large style plugs too.
