Stripped screw holes for door handle.

The t27 screw holes that hold the door handle to the panel are stripped out. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? I've read on using epoxy, using plastic push pins, rivnuts, bigger screws. Im leaning towards epoxy but would like some advice or recommendations first.
(And I'm talking about the actual metal attached to the door where the two t27 screws go into).

Thanks.

I believe the inside door handles are normally pop riveted on. Mine were, drilled them out , borrowed a pop rivet gun from neighbor, Home depot for new rivets. Installed, good as new. Could maybe do small nuts and bolts, but seems like a lot of stress for only screws, hence your issue. Don't actually know if they all came that way, but worked well for me

My bad, by handle I mean the long arm rest/ handle. The one you pull to close the door once you're inside. Its held by three t27 screws. One on the upper end by the unlock/ lock, mirror adjust , door handle panel and two on the lower end closest to your side that you can rest your elbow on.

Oh sorry, yeah those are really large screws and seem like they might last forever. Unless they were over- torqued in, don't know why they would fail. Sure you have the right screws? Take out one from the other door and check maybe?

Re: Stripped screw holes for door handle.

Like Henry described,... the door handle is mounted to 2 brackets that those T27 screws thread into; the brackets are riveted to the door itself. You'll either have to remove/replace those door handle brackets, ( drill the rivets out, install replacement brackets with rivets or nuts/bolts ) or use a larger screw.

Re: Stripped screw holes for door handle.

Like others have said the bracket is held on by four pop rivets, however the "screw hole" is actually a slot and not a hole. Drill out the rivets and flatten the slot so the screw will grab, or find some other way to flatten the slot with the bracket still attached to the door. You can also replace the bracket with another one...
