Be careful with the cheap ones, I got a set a while ago and didn't think anything of it. They had the tabs so they must work, right... Ya no, I hit the button and it blew my 50A ignition prefuse. Turns out they're not properly insulated where it mounts to the body so it's a dead short. I ponied up the $90 for a pair of AC Delco ones with the contacts welded on to the strut like they should be. Haven't installed them yet but they look to be correct.

$15 a piece from Rock Auto.
Do you know if these 4967's would be a good choice for an 86T/A with the rubber aero spoiler?..I wouldn't mind having to give it a push..

Where did you buy them and do you have a part number?

I installed the Delco struts today and the work correctly. The closing effort is not bad and it opens slow enough that it doesn't bounce or anything. The defogger grid works properly now too. You can see the welded tab on the bottom and riveted at the top. The maxpow one is what I originally got that are totally made wrong for this application and shorted the defogger feed.

^^^ good to hear ^^^
I bought a pair of the strong arm 4967 but decided the AC delco looked closer to stock with how the defogger wires attached. Now I have both on the garage shelf but will be installing the Delco ones.
