Lift supports(gas), how much nm?
Hello
I recently bought an Iroc-z 87, unfortunately the front hood and back trunk lift supports are completely dead and they have no serial numbers etc to check.
So whats the "ideal" nm torque for the supports? got a normal original hood and the *** heavy glass trunk.
/Thanks!

Hit up rockauto for both. The AMS4967 are about spot on for the rear hatch supports, not too strong to push the decklid out of alignment or fly up super fast and risk damage. The 4967 seems as close to the factory ones that I could find.
I dont have a recommendation for the hood struts but.

The hood struts are "clip" on and the rear struts/decklid are tiny 7mm screws. That just leave the big torx on the hatch/body, but i would just hand tightened them.

UPDATE: I just wanted update everyone who reads/searches on those struts I have, I am pretty sure that I blew my rear defrost switch because I never swapped over the plastic bushings on the strut eyelet that connect on the deck lid from the old struts to the new. So be sure to do that. Luckily I kept the old ones that have the plastic bushings so I can switch them over. The struts themselves still work great.
