Passenger side courtesy light?

My drivers side has a courtesy light on the floor, but the passenger doesn't. Why?

Re: Passenger side courtesy light?

My 91 Firebird didn't have either until I put them in, the mounting holes were in the hush panels but no light bulb sockets, I'm the third owner so who knows what happen prior to be getting the car.

Courtesy lights were discontinued for the 90-92 models. Not available.

My '90s had lights in the passenger-side footwell. Maybe discontinued in 1991?

That makes sense, I just assumed because the hush panels still has the mounting holes that either someone took them out or they weren't apart of the package that was ordered.

Could be yours is an early 90 production car, maybe a mid year change?

Hmmm... possible... the interior facelift with airbags & stuff was in 90, but 90's still had the "old" exterior... maybe in 90 the courtesy lights were still available. But definitely not in 91/92 model years.

I bought it in February of 1990, right before the early intro of the '91s (the '91 changes were why I rushed to buy a '90). But I don't know when it was manufactured. I"m certain it had the light because I remember changing it.

Because that's the connector for the harness, not the connector for a bulb. The harness would split off (Y) and have a socket on both sides of the car for bulbs. Cars that didn't have the lights don't have the Y harness.

Re: Passenger side courtesy light?

This kit includes a harness, brackets and led bulbs for both sides of the interior. Can be used on a car that has no footwell wiring or as an easy way to replace/fix factory footwell wiring that is missing parts. Led bulbs use 194 size bulbs so easy to change colors later on. We include 3rd gen specific instructions and add black loom to the wiring so it blends in to the under dash area.
