Dreaded key stuck in "On" position issue

Hello,
My car is a 1992 RS convertible, tilt steering column. I've had the stuck key issue for quite a while but mine only happens when the weather gets cooler. I didn't have this problem from May until a few days ago (Oct.) so I haven't worried about it until this week. Monday, I took the car to a mechanic and had the ignition lock cylinder replaced. This morning when I arrived at work, the key was stuck again like nothing had been changed. I left the car in the sun, went back later and the key came came right out first try. I have tried turning the wheel, tilting the wheel and looking for the thing that turns around at the bottom of the steering column but my car doesn't seem to have that. This really is a big problem because if I can't trust that I can remove the key I can't drive the car anywhere for fear of it being stolen - especially as a convertible. Any suggestions or advice on what to do now that I've had the lock cylinder replaced would be greatly appreciated.

Probably not the answer you wanted since you just spent money putting an ignition cylinder in, but I ended up just replacing my entire steering column with a used one when my key started acting up like that. I also had problems with my high beam switch, so it made sense for me. They're surprisingly easy to install as an assembly, unlike everything inside of it. Paid maybe $150 on eBay for the whole thing, with shipping. Install took me maybe 2 hours. My VATS was already disabled, so that made it easier of course. Sold the steering wheel and airbag that came with it, and made my money back!
